Wachovia Corp. chief executive Ken Thompson received about $2 million in total compensation in 2007, a sharp drop from the prior year because he didn’t get a bonus or any restricted stock, according to the company’s proxy filing Monday.
In a year in which his bank’s profits and stock price plunged, Thompson received a salary of $1,090,000 and other compensation valued at $286,256, including perks such as personal use of corporate aircraft. He also made $639,501 from exercising stock options granted in prior years. Read more
