Habitat to build 30 homes in revitalization area
Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity has announced plans to be build 30 homes in one of the county’s revitalization areas.
Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity has announced plans to build 30 homes in the county’s revitalization area near Conway Boulevard, Midway Boulevard, Easy Street and U.S. 41.
According to Mike Mansfield, executive director of Charlotte County Habitat, funds for the project came from a grant called Hurricane Housing Recovery Funds, given by the state to Charlotte County.
Habitat brings together people with resources and people in need to build simple, affordable houses; the homes are sold to those in need at no profit, through no-interest loans.
The organization was one of four that received the grant, Mansfield said, which amounted to $2.1 million to help revitalize the area
