Mortgage interest rates are on the rise in New Zealand as the United States housing crisis rubs off around the world. Westpac on Thursday raised its fixed rates by 0.2%, taking its two-year fixed term rate to 9.6%, up from 9.4%. This follows a similar hike by ANZ National Bank in the past week.
