Beazer Homes USA Inc. on Thursday said it will restate financial statements from as far back as 1999 after interim findings of an internal investigation into the homebuilder’s mortgage operations.
The Atlanta-based company said its audit committee probe found evidence that employees in its mortgage subsidiary violated U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations involving down payment assistance programs for Federal Housing Administration insured loans dating to at least 2000. The company said it was not yet possible to determine the impact on its financial statements. Read more
