Designer Vern Yip keeps going and going and . . .

Some people just don’t know when to stop. Or can’t. Or plain don’t want to. On all those counts, Vern Yip comes to mind. Architect, interior designer, former designer on TLC’s ‘Trading Spaces,’ now judge on HGTV’s ‘Design Star,’ which had its season premiere July 22, and host of HGTV’s new ‘Deserving Design’ (premiering Sept. 12). And then there are the one, two, three, count ‘em, four big dogs that share his Atlanta home. How does he keep it all – including his creative juices – going? ‘We just had a 10-day break in shooting my new HGTV series ‘Deserving Design,’ which I needed badly,’ the 39-year-old told us in an e-mail interview. ‘I love shooting the show but I’m so passionate about it that I put every last fiber of my being into it which can be exhausting. I took the opportunity to hit the road and go see Russia for the first time to get some fresh inspiration. Read more
