“When consumers are feeling pinched, they are more inclined to complain”
Complaints to the Charlotte-area Better Business Bureau about scams, shoddy service and other consumer gripes have continued to reach new heights, the same as every year since 2001, according to the member organization.
The bureau released its mid-year tabulation Monday, which is on track to be more than one-third ahead of last year’s record-breaking total, a side-effect of rapid growth and better Internet technology, said bureau President Tom Bartholomy.
Scammers go where the money and people live, he said, citing the Charlotte region’s average net growth of 50,000 residents a year. Read more
