MCLEAN, Va., April 20 (UPI)—The 30-year fixed-rate U.S. mortgage averaged rose to 6.53 percent last week from the previous period’s 6.49 percent. Freddie Mac also said Thursday that this time last year the mortgage rate was 5.8 percent.
